Out and About in Northumberland

Powburn is on the A697 and situated in the heart of Northumberland. The rural village has a cafe, a convenience store and a Post Office.

Cheviot View is in an ideal location for exploring Northumberland. It is perfect for walkers and only a few minutes from the Cheviot Hills. It is situated amongst lovely scenery and has a wealth of bird and wildlife close by.

Powburn is close to the towns of Wooler and Rothbury and is only ten minutes from the historic market town of Alnwick, famous for its castle and The Alnwick Garden. Barely 20 minutes away is Northumberland's stunning coastline with beautiful sandy beaches and rock pools. Even the wonderful scenery of the Scottish Borders is within easy reach.

There is just so much to see in this area, the only problem is having time to fit it all in. The famous Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is close by as are the other National Trust properties Cragside, Wallington Hall and Dunstanburgh Castle.

Golfers have a choice of both links and inland courses where visitors are made very welcome. If you have an interest in ornithology there are regular trips from Seahouses to the Farne Islands which are a haven for many different species of birds.
